Meet Sue Dyson with the OAEP Annual General Meeting to Follow
Teatro Event and Conference Centre, Milton, Ontario
Sunday February 28, 2016

12:30pm-4:30pm


The OAEP is pleased to announce that we have coordinated with the KUWS Case Studies in Equine Lameness Conference featuring Dr. Sue Dyson, to hold a coinciding OAEP CE meeting and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on February 28, 2016. Dr. Dyson is an internationally revered lameness expert, author, researcher and speaker.  The CE portion of the meeting will start at 12:30pm (which will be the free portion of the KUWS Conference), where Dr. Sue Dyson will be presenting Case Studies in Equine Lameness.  The OAEP AGM will follow Dr. Dyson's presentation with a Wine & Cheese event.  We are fortunate to be able to take advantage of Zoetis’s sponsorship of Sue Dyson as the educational speaker this year.  Idexx Laboratories has generously sponsored the AGM portion of the OAEP meeting.

Register for 2016 OAEP Membership!

To renew your existing membership for 2016, or to join as a new member, membership dues are now being accepted by visiting the OAEP website at www.ontarioequinevets.ca and click on "Join OAEP".  Membership dues will also be accepted at the upcoming AGM on February 28 (cash or cheque only at the AGM). Membership is $80 for veterinarians (discounted to $40 for CCVA Members payable at the AGM), and $20 for student veterinarians. OAEP membership offers opportunities to connect with your veterinary colleagues and partner organizations, as well as access to past and upcoming CE opportunities, among other benefits. Distinguished Life Member Award and Honourary Member Award to be Presented at the AGM!
At this year's AGM, the OAEP is excited to announce that the Association will be presenting two award categories in recognition of those that have made exceptional contributions to both equine practice and the OAEP.  The Distinguished Life Member Award is presented to members who have made outstanding contributions to the Association.  The Honourary Member Award is presented to those who have made noteworthy and outstanding contributions to equine practice.  We are excited to be presenting both  will be presented at the upcoming AGM.

Calling for Nominations for the OAEP Executive Committee
At the AGM, the OAEP will be seeking candidates for nomination to the 2016 Executive Board. Involvement in the Executive is a great way to network with colleagues and have an impact on the veterinary profession.  Positions available and their associated descriptions include the following: 
 
•   President-Elect/Vice President: to assist the President in organizational duties; to assume the position of President in the following year 
•   Secretary: to keep minutes of meetings, and assist with executive duties; this is a 1-year term


In addition to the Executive positions above, we are also seeking members interested in serving on the Welfare Committee, Racing Committee, Continuing Education Committee, and as District Representatives.  All positions above are on a volunteer basis, and involve attending meetings (3-6 times per year, in person or conference call), and the Annual General Meeting.
